On The Relationship Between Food And Art

Food may be a normal thing for people,and in daily life,they are exposed to all kinds of information about food,but the cognition of food needs to be structured in different levels of meaning,"food,color,and sex" is described in Mencius,and "The book of Rites" also mentioned of "Eat Drink Man Woman,the great desire of man to exist." In the above description,we can see that food focuses on the human instinct,that is,a biological nature,which is satisfied with man’s need for survival When the concept of "gastronomy" came into being,the meaning of "taste" was integrated into the construction of the signification of food.Looking back on the history of art,Amid the clutter of visual images,the element of "food" is expressed by the artist through the combination of different scenes and various artistic languages.Just as Henry Mattis’ s fruit and coffeepot,Vincent Vincent Van Gogh’s inside Al’s,Michelangelo Caravaggio’s fruit basket,and Andy Warhol’s Campbell’s Soup Cans.In these complicated visual images,the focus of this paper will be on the aesthetic transformation of everyday objects,that is,thinking about how the representation of "food" in visual works can be translated through various artistic techniques and structural relationships.As the famous art historian Wu Hong Put it,the image of the visual object is often only the representation of the thing,so that it can be viewed from the perspective of everyday objects Behind it is the construction of various ideas.In this paper,we will make a three-level narration along this issue,first of all,we will return to the "food",which is the essence of daily things,to explore how it is gradually involved in the concept of aesthetics Thus the logical process of the aesthetic possession of everyday objects is quoted,and a more complete and in-depth narration of this problem is formed That is,through the focus of various factors in the formation oflogical relations from non-art to art.On this basis,I will turn to the visual works for the "food" of the object image of the formal level of the shape structure and the concept behind the presentation of the image to interpret,to specifically explore the way of the creation of the domain,and the "domain" of the quote,mainly lies in the artist’s multi-way artistic additional logical structure,at the end of the article,the emphasis will trace back to the self-creation itself,ponders how to build a dialogical relationship with the viewer as well as ego through the presentations of "food" in the work.in this relationship,through the artistic process of everyday things,to place topics and thinking,thus completing the structure of its meaning field.Food is an ordinary hidden thing,it has a variety of relevance,and human emotion,social development,the extension of history related to the visual works,"food" in the image of the form of the artist through a deliberate conception and intent,thus,this everyday object is attached with various signified directions,in which the author and the viewer form their own reflections of meaning and thinking.
