A Study On The Poverty Issues Of American Vietnam War Veterans(1966-1989)

In the middle of the 20 th century,the poverty crisis of the disadvantaged groups in American society became increasingly prominent.The life of American Vietnam war veterans began to change from war crisis to survival crisis,and their collective poverty problem gradually became the focus of anti-poverty.This paper,from the perspective of history,elaborates the living conditions of the Vietnam war veterans in the United States,analyzes the effectiveness of the struggle,and demonstrates the government’s welfare policy and anti-poverty mechanism,but poverty cannot be eradicated.The article is composed of three parts: introduction,main body and conclusion.The main body is divided into three parts:The first part discusses the formation of poverty crisis in the readjustment process of American Vietnam War veterans.This paper summarizes the basic situation of the poverty of the American veterans in Vietnam War Veterans and analyzes the factors affecting the poverty problem.The second part discusses the struggle of the Vietnam veterans against the poverty crisis.The government’s wartime policy adjustment made the survival of the Vietnam War veterans face a more serious crisis.They constantly carried out anti-poverty struggle for the protection of their own rights and interests,and pushed their anti-poverty struggle into a climax.Finally,it promoted the change of social attitude towards their group evaluation and pushed the government to introduce reform measures.The third part,elaborated the federal government to the United States Vietnam War veterans welfare policy security.This paper discusses the welfare and security policies of the government for the Vietnam war veterans from five aspects of housing,medical treatment,education,old-age support and employment,and promotes the establishment of the security system.The government has made a good attempt in the social security of the group,but it is limited to the system defect,not completely nor completely,but only alleviates the pressure of the group poverty.Although the social security of American Vietnam veterans has a certain continuity and expansion,the policy formulation and system construction are not consistent.Not only face their own poverty crisis,but also need to bear the social "discrimination".Various social groups have been trying to alleviate poverty,and the government is also trying to maintain the stability of policies.However,the poverty problem is always changing dynamically with the development of the American economy,and the tendency of policies and the weakening of the anti-poverty struggle of the disadvantaged groups continue to spread.After all,the poverty of America’s Vietnam veterans cannot be truly rescued and completely eradicated.
