| Borrowing is a common phenomenon in unearthed literature.The study of borrowing is not only helpful to read ancient literature,but also very helpful to the study the Chinese language history.This paper makes a thorough investigation of the borrowed characters in the Warring States Period bamboo slips of Tsinghua University(from the fifth to the ninth),and collects 543 groups of borrowed relations and 513 cases of borrowed characters,with a total of 2,577 times of borrowed characters.We try to analyze these borrowing phenomenons in order to form a certain understanding of the character usage habits of Chu people and the phonetic characteristics of Chu dialect in the Warring States Period.This paper consists of five parts.The introduction mainly introduces the reason of the topic and the significance of the research,and makes a brief introduction to the status of the research on the borrowing,the related research on the borrowing and the related research on the ancient phonology of Tsinghua bamboo slips.In the last section of this chapter,we determine the methods of identifying and studying the borrowed characters.The second chapter is constituted of "study on the relationship between the initial consonants of Chinese syllables" and "study on the relationship between the simple or compound vowels of Chinese syllables".We study the phonological relations between borrowed characters and the original characters in the borrowing phenomenon of Tsinghua bamboo slips(from the fifth to the ninth),analyze the proportion data of each relationship between the initial consonants and each relationship between the simple or compound vowels of Chinese syllables.As far as possible to argument some borrowing relationships of distant initial consonants and simple or compound vowels of Chinese syllables.Summarize some dialect features in the ancient times.In the third chapter,we study the phenomenon of borrowed characters in Tsinghua Jian(from the fifth to the ninth)from the two aspects of whether the parts of borrowed characters and the original characters are related,and summarize some borrowed character selection habits of Chu people in the Warring States Period.In chapter four,we summarize the borrowing forms between the borrowed characters and the original characters from three aspects:simple borrowing,camplex borrowing and triangular borrowing.These triangular borrowing forms best illustrate the phonological relation between the borrowed character and the original character.Finally,we summarize the previous research contents. |
