| Nowadays,Chinese culture going global has gained momentum and been facilitated by the Belt and Road Initiative.During the process,people-to-people exchanges play a crucial role,and that can not be realized without interpreter and interpretation.How to convey the connotation of cultural-loaded words in an interesting fashion and get it across present challenges to interpreters.The author happens to interpret for a lecture-Chinese Wisdom in Taichi Culture Lecture held in UIBE(University of International Business and Economics).Under the theme of practicing Taichi,cultural-loaded words produce a batch of challenges,and the author endeavors to address the problem by applying Eco-Translatology to guide and analyze the interpreting process and behaviors.This practice report is designed to shed light on the application and inspiration of Eco-Translatology for interpreters in a cultural-loaded as well as cross-cultural scenario and to offer some suggestions to interpreters through a descriptive method and case analysis approach.In accordance with the adaptative selection and selective adaptation principle at three dimensions of linguistics,culture and communication,Multi-Dimensional integration is expected to reach the highest degree by allowing interpreter’s subjectivity to be given a full play in on-site performance as well as postreview.The information embodied by the words and the communication hampered by the cultural differences can be solved to the largest extent,and a conclusion enlightening can be shared and discussed in a bid to facilitate cultural exchanges and Chinese culture going global.In the face of ecological and material cultural-loaded words,it is advisable for the interpreter to transliterate and employ the existing usages;as the four-characterterms are dealt with,borrowing previous expressions through daily accumulation and explainning its cultural contents to a certain degree are favourable options;under the condition that the cultural-loaded words sometimes hampers basic communication,omission can also be conducted.In this way,the middle-man in the cross-cultural communication landscape will function more effectively and deliver a version with the highest multi-dimensional integration by adaptative selection. |
