Tujia minority is a minority group with long history in China.Tujia people have formed distinctive minority culture in aspects of literature, music, dance, drama and folk customs.Tujia folk culture has a rich and profound heritage. With its colorful and unique characteristics,Tujia folk culture has become a very important part of Chinese traditional culture.Eco-translatology which bases on the principle of Biological Evolution involving “selection” and “survival of the fittest” is to study translation from different elements and aspects.Based on the theoretical framework of Eco-translatology,the thesis employs qualitative analysis and case analysis, taking the English translation of culture-loaded words in Tujia folk culture into analysis. It found that(1)Translation of culture-loaded words is a complex process, which needs the translator to make multiple adaptations to translational eco-environment and then make selections based on that adaptation. It needs the translator making adaptation to the translational eco-environment from multiple dimensions.(2)Tujia language and target readers form the translational eco-environment,which restricts the translator's selection.(3)The translator flexibly use translation strategies to realize the mufti-dimensional transformations on linguistic, communicative and cultural dimensions.
