Cultural exchanges are an important vehicle for exchanges between countries.Cultural exchange activities serve as a bridge and bond to enhance understanding and friendship between countries and nations,promote cooperation in economy,politics,science and technology and other fields,and play an important role in promoting harmonious coexistence,prosperity and development of human civilization.China and Russia are each other’s biggest neighbors.China and Russia have a long history of cultural exchanges and a sound foundation for such exchanges.The establishment of the China-Russia New Era Comprehensive Strategic Partnership of Coordination in2019 marks a new era of all-round development between the two countries.The study of the cultural exchanges between China and Russia in the 21 st century is conducive to promoting the cultural exchanges and development of the two countries,to enhancing the political mutual trust and economic and trade cooperation between the two countries,and to further promoting the development of the comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination between the two countries in the new era.The thesis consists of four chapters: introduction and text.The introduction mainly elaborates the research background of Sino-Russian cultural exchange in the 21 st century,the significance of the topic of this paper,the status quo of the research on the cultural exchange between the two countries at home and abroad,and the research methods and innovations of this paper.The first chapter mainly retrospects the history of Sino-Russian cultural exchanges.In the Yuan Dynasty,the cultural exchanges between China and Russia sprout.Before the Opium War,Chinese culture was widely spread in Russia,but Russian culture was less spread in China.After the Opium War,China began to study Russian culture.In particular,the construction of the Middle East Railway and the opening of the entire railway increased the exchanges between the two peoples,and the culture of China and Russia began to be widely exchanged.In the period of the Republic of China,after the October Revolution,China and Russia carried out cooperation in ideology,literature,art and other fields,and the cultural exchanges between China and Russia entered a peak stage.However,the cultural exchanges between the two countries still had the characteristics of imbalance.Russian culture spread more in China,while Chinese culture spread less in Russia.With the founding of the People’s Republic of China,the development of the relationship between China and Russia experienced a tortuous course,and the cultural exchanges between the two countries also fluctuated with the changes of the state relations.Until the disintegration of the Soviet Union,the cultural exchanges between the two countries began to set sail again.The second chapter mainly discusses the specific situation,characteristics and significance of Sino-Russian cultural exchanges in the 21 st century.Entering the 21 st century,the relationship between China and Russia has been upgraded to a new level.During this period,the cultural exchanges between China and Russia also prospered.The successful holding of various "theme year" cultural activities promoted the development of the two countries in many fields of economy and politics,and the spontaneous cultural exchanges in the fields of music,fine arts and language promoted the friendly exchanges between the two peoples.The cultural exchanges between China and Russia in the 21 st century are characterized by government-led,elaborate platform construction and wide range of exchanges.The cultural exchanges between China and Russia have strengthened the political mutual trust between the two countries,increased the economic and trade cooperation between the two countries,and promoted the development of the two cultures and the cooperation in the cultural industry.The third chapter mainly analyzes the problems existing in Sino-Russian cultural exchanges in the 21 st century.In terms of the international cultural environment,the cultural exchanges between China and Russia are objectively affected by the strong cultural influence of the West,and the misunderstanding of "China threat theory" and other theories causes cognitive deviation of the people of the two countries.The main body of cultural exchange between China and Russia is still dominated by the government,while the folk cultural exchange is less.The contents of the exchanges lay more emphasis on contemporary culture than on traditional culture.In addition,the cultural differences between China and Russia have affected people’s understanding of each other’s culture,and the lack of scientific planning in the field of cultural exchanges has affected the development process of culture and cultural industry in the two countries.The fourth chapter mainly puts forward some countermeasure suggestions for Sino-Russian cultural exchange in the 21 st century.For the problems in the process of cultural exchanges between China and Russia,this paper believes that to promote the cultural exchanges and development between China and Russia through increasing the government leading efforts and strengthening scientific planning;To enhance the cultural attraction of China and Russia through innovative cultural communication carriers;To enhance the cultural identity of the Chinese and Russian people through innovative cultural industries.How to strengthen the cultural exchanges between China and Russia and generate spillover effects through cultural exchanges so as to enhance the political mutual trust and economic and trade cooperation between the two countries is an important issue we face.
