Yuan zaju is a unique style of drama literature in the history of Yuan Dynasty and a bright pearl in the history of ancient Chinese literature.Yuan zaju tragedy because of the hero’s tragedy makes people feel the same,impressed,and the hero’s tragedy of the kind of people is the tragedy maker.This paper will take "Quan Yuan Qu" as the base,select the 25 Yuan Zaju tragedyies defined by Mr.Xie Baoliang,and study all the tragedy makers involved in the article.The paper will be divided into six parts for discussion.The first part mainly defines the concept of tragedy maker.The second part mainly makes a classified study on all the tragedy-makers’ images in the tragedy works of 25 Yuan Zaju,mainly from three aspects: the sinister and vicious tragedy-makers,the unintentional tragedy-makers and the self-eating tragedy-makers.The third part focuses on the tragedy-makers in three typical tragic works,Dou E’s injustice,Han Gong Qiu,Zhao’s Orphan.The fourth part focuses on the role of tragedy makers,mainly from three aspects: the promoter of tragic plot,the maker of comedy effect,and the connoisseur of tragic characters.The fifth part mainly analyzes the causes of tragedy makers,mainly influenced by the four-class system of Yuan Dynasty,the decline of Confucian traditional ideas and the creation of playwrights.The sixth part mainly discusses the influence of the typology of tragedy makers in the tragic works of Yuan zaju on later generations.Unlike previous studies on the tragedy of Yuan zaju,which are limited to the characteristics of tragedy itself and the tragic outcome,this paper focuses on the relationship between tragedy makers and tragedies.From the question of who made tragedy,this paper explores the tragedy makers.
