The post-epidemic era refers to the era after the epidemic has passed. In the post-epidemic era, community workers played an important role in the prevention and control of the epidemic,to a certain extent,to curb the spread of the epidemic, and at the same time, they did a lot of constructive work for the normal operation of the daily life of community residents during the epidemic.Locally promoted the improvement of the country ’ s grassroots governance system. However,in the epidemic prevention work, they have suffered a lot of stress and anxiety, and have different levels of physical and mental distress, such as anxiety, depression, insomnia, boredom, feelings of powerlessness, and job burnout. In particular, vicarious trauma generated in helping people is rarely paid attention to by the society. It has a negative impact on their work and family life and personal development,so they need to be paid attention to.This study focuses on community workers from Hubei Province who have been engaged in front-line epidemic prevention and control in areas that were once high-risk for the epidemic, with Wuhan as the main research object.Vicarious Trauma Scale(VTS)was used to investigate the current situation of vicarious trauma caused by community workers during the epidemic prevention and control process.A total of323 front-line community workers were surveyed by questionnaires. On this basis,a random sampling method was used to select 32 community workers with higher scores of vicarious trauma as the research objects, and they were divided into intervention group and control group, with 16 people in each group. After that,a total of 8 online group tutoring activities of drawing analysis network were carried out for members of the intervention group, while the control group did not conduct any intervention. After the intervention, the characteristics of the house-tree-person paintings of the intervention group and the control group were compared and analyzed.Members of the intervention group were selected for case studies. One month after the intervention, the members of the intervention group were tested.Follow-up interviews to further verify the effect of painting group counseling intervention in community workers’ vicarious trauma. The research conclusions are as follows:(1)Community workers who have participated in the prevention and control of the epidemic have a relatively high total score for vicarious trauma. In the scores of various dimensions of vicarious trauma, the physiological dimension scores the highest, followed by emotion, behavior, and life beliefs, and the cognitive dimension scores the lowest.(2)From the perspective of demographic variables, gender only differs from the cognitive dimension scores of vicarious trauma. The scores of the emotion, behavior, and life belief dimensions of vicarious trauma are significantly different from those of different age levels, but there is no difference in other dimensions.Marital status is different from the life beliefs and behavior dimensions of community workers, but has nothing to do with other dimensions. There are significant differences in the cognitive dimension scores of cultural level and vicarious trauma, and the cognitive dimension scores of community workers show a trend of declining as their cultural level increases. There are significant differences between the types of community workers and the total scores of vicarious trauma, emotional, cognitive, and physiological dimensions, and have nothing to do with other dimensions.(3)Painting group counseling activities effectively improved the scores of vicarious trauma of the intervention group members, while vicarious trauma scores of the control group did not decrease but increased without intervention.(4)By interpreting and analyzing the characteristics of the paintings of the house-tree-person before and after the intervention group and the control group,it is found that the members of the intervention group are in the painting characteristics of the house-tree-person in the colors, lines, brushstrokes, and the location of the house-tree-person.Significant changes have taken place in the size and other aspects, vicarious trauma has improved, and the before and after painting characteristics of the control group have no obvious changes.A case study of a participating member of the intervention group further illustrates the effectiveness of the intervention research.(5)Based on the qualitative research and analysis of the interview data of the intervention group before and after the intervention, the interviews of the intervention group after the painting group counseling further show that the community workers’ vicarious trauma has been significantly improved after the painting group counseling.
