The modal adverbs "Que Shi,Zhuo Shi,Wei Shi,Guo Ran,Guo Zhen,Zhen De,Bi Ran,Bi Ding,Yi Ding" have similar usage in verbal communication,expressing the affirmation of the situation,highlighting the speaker’s subjective intention,and commenting on the proposition in the sentence.We call these adverbs as affirmative modal adverbs,and divide them into "Que Shi","Guo Ran" and "Bi Ran" categories.Based on the semantic and functional description,we make a comparative analysis between words and sub-categories,and between sub-categories,in order to find out the syntactic,semantic and functional commonalities and differences within the positive modal adverbs.The thesis contain four chapters: introduction,text and conclusion mainly.The introduction exhibits the research status of affirmative modal adverbs principally,the research direction,study techniques and the corpus’ source in this paper.Chapter one and Chapter three describe and analyze the semantic features,semantic distribution and textual functions of the three subcategories of modal adverbs,namely "Que Shi","Guo Ran" and "Bi Ran"."Que Shi,Zhuo Shi,Wei Shi,Guo Ran,Guo Zhen,Zhen De,Bi Ran,Bi Ding,Yi Ding" and their syntactic environment mainly in Degree of willingness,reality/unrealisticness and definiteness/indefiniteness in aspects of restraining each other,those kinds of semantic distribution of modal adverbs is in the the domain of actions,knowledge and speech,affirming the authenticity of the spoken content of the sentence.And they also have the function of focus and can connect text through semantic components to achieve interpersonal adaptation to some extent.The fourth chapter is the conclusion,which summarizes the whole text,tries to generalize the deep causes of the internal similarities and differences of the positive modal adverbs,and points out the problems existing in the article.
