Self-esteem plays an important role in social adjustment.In response to negative or threatening stimuli.Among them,individuals with low self-esteem generally show attention bias to negative information.It was subsequently found that attention bias training can correct individuals’ attention bias patterns and improve their symptoms.In this study,low self-esteem subjects were screened by the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale,followed by two studies and four experiments.The first study was to investigate the attention bias of low self-esteem individuals to emotional information and the effect of positive attention training on the intervention of low self-esteem individuals.The second study was to compare the effects of active attention training in time and space.Firstly,low self-esteem individuals were selected as research subjects through Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale.In the first experiment of the study 1,we used the point-detection paradigm to investigate the attention bias of low self-esteem subjects.The stimuli were emotional faces.The second experiment examined the training effects of positive and neutral attention bias on low self-esteem participants,the training task still uses the point-detection paradigm.At the same time,the eye movement track of the subjects will also be tracked and recorded through an eye tracker.The results showed that individuals with low self-esteem had attention bias towards negative face material,and the component of this bias was facilitated attention.Compared with neutral training,positive attention bias training can reduce the interference of negative emotional faces.In the second study,the first experiment was to compare the intervention effects of positive attention training under the conditions of different material presentation time,there are two kinds of presentation time,500 ms and 1500ms;Second experiment compared the intervention effects of positive training under different orientation of materials,there are two rendering directions,up and down and left and right.Reference Wadlinger and Isaacowitz procedures for the pre-and post-test procedures in this study.Negative emotional pictures were selected as materials.The results of study 2 showed that compared with the 500 ms presentation time,the participants’ positive attention training effect was better under the 1500 ms presentation condition.Under the positive training condition,the effect of the left and right orientation of the stimulus was the same as that under the up and down conditions.In this present study,we found that positive attention bias training could inhibit the interference of low self-esteem individuals with negative emotional faces,but the intervention effect was better under the condition of 1500 ms.It also indicates that the effect of attention bias training on low self-esteem individuals may occur in the late stage of attention bias training.Under the positive training condition,the effect was the same as under the up-down condition.Lastly,under the condition of positive training,the effect of stimulation is the same under the condition of left and right orientation and up and down conditions.The results of research show that the positive attention to the training tasks can help low self-esteem individuals against negative information,low self-esteem individuals learn the emotion regulation strategies,perhaps in the beneficial social cognition in the long-term development can reduce people’s high alert to social exclusion,contribute to effective self-regulation reaction,the influence of buffer threat information in the surrounding environment.
