Research On Shen Kuo’s Painting Theory

Gathered his rich and comprehensive theoretical knowledge,Shen Kuo wrote a famous book called "Notes in Dream Brook",which holds an important position in the notebook literature of the Song Dynasty,and even in the whole historical process of ancient Chinese literature.The theory of scientific aspect involved in "Notes in Dream Brook" has always been admired by relevant researchers inland and abroad,but the research on the theory of painting in this book is currently inadequate.According to the analysis of this article,the production of Shen Kuo’s painting theory has been affected by many factors,including external environmental factors,such as the political atmosphere and political system of the Northern Song Dynasty,the development of social economy and culture,and the degree of development of industries such as technology and handicrafts.Shen Kuo’s family atmosphere and the aesthetic ability of the people at that time;there are also certain internal factors and other influences,including Shen Kuo’s own rigorous academic attitude and rational and clear thinking mode.At the same time,this article also points out the three main characteristics of Shen Kuo’s painting theory,namely,the dialectical adherence to truth",the rigorous pursuit of "reality" and the multi-angle discussion of "the morality of painting".Shen Kuo’s rational dialectics gives him a comprehensive and novel perspective on the theory of painting.Therefore,the author divides his painting theory into two aspects:creation theory and appreciation theory,and will be further subdivided in the follow-up discussion.The full text quotes more of the original text of "Notes in Dream Brook",and at the same time quotes many painting theories from ancient times to the present for circumstantial evidence,as well as other ancient materials for textual research,in order to fully and clearly show Shen Kuo’s painting theory system.
