| Non-suicidal self-injury(NSSI),which refers to direct,deliberate destruction of one’s own body tissue with the lack of an intention to die.Although NSSI was initially conceptualized as a negative coping behavior common in psychiatrically diagnosed individuals,recent research shows the behavior is also prevalent in community populations,especially in adolescents.Adolescents are a high-risk group of NSSI,approximately a quarter of Chinese adolescents have engagement in NSSI.NSSI in adolescents is a world-wide public health concern for its high prevalence and adverse consequences,and aroused the attention of more and more scholars.In order to understand the influencing factors and mechanism of NSSI,this research is carried out from two parts.Study 1: Relationship between sleep problems,emotion regulation difficulties,depression and NSSI in adolescents.This research explores the impact of sleep problems on NSSI through emotion regulation difficulties and depression,and further sorts out the relationship between sleep problems,emotion regulation difficulties,depression,and NSSI.This research adopts the questionnaire,through <Self-rating Sleep Disorder Questionnaire,SSDQ >,<Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale,DERS-16>,<Patient Health Questionnaire,PHQ-9>,<DSHI> in Shijiazhuang,which is the city of a junior and senior high school,432 students,explore the mechanism of emotional regulation difficulties and depression between sleep problems and self-harm behavior.Results:(1)The detection rate of NSSI among adolescents was 30.09%,the level of adolescent self-harm behavior is significantly different in gender,grade,mother’s education level and physical health;(2)Sleep problems,emotion regulation difficulties,depression and NSSI were positively correlated;(3)Emotion regulation difficulties plays a mediating role in the relationship between sleep problems and NSSI;(4)Depression plays a mediating role in the relationship between sleep problems and NSSI;(5)Emotion regulation difficulties-depression plays a chain mediating role in the relationship between sleep problems and NSSI.This part of the research is to in-depth study the relationship between sleep problems and NSSI,explore the causes and influencing factors about NSSI,analyze and summarize the characteristics of NSSI adolescents.Study 2: The qualitative research of NSSI in adolescents.The interviewees were 12 adolescents from clinical samples who had NSSI in the past year.The interview consists of four parts:(1)Personal information;(2)Sleep and emotion;(3)NSSI;(4)After NSSI.Results suggest:(1)Adolescents in NSSI generally have emotional and interpersonal problems;(2)The main sleep problem of NSSI adolescents are frequent nightmares,difficulty falling sleep and difficulty maintaining sleep;(3)Sleep problems affect the physiology,emotion,cognition and behavior of NSSI adolescents;(4)The emotion,behavior and cognition had changed after NSSI in adolescents. |
