A Study Of Fuzhou Dialect Vocabulary In The Past 100 Years

The influence of common language on southern dialects is unprecedented in depth and breadth from 19 th century to 20 th century,and vocabulary is the most sensitive and variable part of dialect system.Fuzhou dialect,as an important branch of Min dialect,has always been concerned by the academic community,but the systematic study of Fuzhou dialect vocabulary is rare.This paper focuses on the vocabulary of Fuzhou dialect,the author’s mother tongue,in order to sort out the vocabulary of Fuzhou dialect for more than a hundred years,observe the development and evolution of Fuzhou dialect vocabulary,and summarize the characteristics and rules of the vocabulary evolution of Fuzhou dialect.In this paper,on the basis of the field investigation to obtain first-hand information,combined with the existing research results the vocabulary classification system of Fuzhou dialect since the 19 th century,the first to classify and analyze analyzes the changes of vocabulary since the 19 th century,describe the development and changes of the four categories of words in Fuzhou dialect since the 19 th century from the perspectives of semantics and phonetics,and observe the cause and the emergence of new words.Then we investigate the preservation of the three word idioms(mainly the AXX and XXA)in Fuzhou dialect,discuss the causes of vocabulary changes,and summarize the characteristics and rules of evolution.At the same time,we pay attention to the quantifiers and derogatory terms in Fuzhou dialect,make a special study on them.We compare it with Putonghua words at the synchronic level,and study the changes of these words over the past 100 years at the diachronic level.
