The Discovery And Preliminary Study Of Bashu Symbol In The Three Gorges Region

In the tombs of the Warring States and Qin and Han Dynasties in Sichuan and Chongqing,there are a large number of artifacts with patterns different from the general decoration.The patterns are diverse in types and mysterious in connotations,which are often called as "Bashu Symbols" by the academic circle,which is an important entry point to study the ancient civilization of Bashu region.After the world-famous Three Gorges Project was launched in the 1990 s,a large number of implements bearing the symbol of Ba-Shu were discovered in the Three Gorges region.Through collecting and sorting out these implements and symbols on them,this paper divides the symbols into typologies,and probes into the connotation of symbols on this basis.The full text is divided into six parts.The first part is the introduction,which introduces the research object of Bashu symbols and related implements in the Three Gorges region,and determines the geographical scope of the study in the Three Gorges region.It also introduces the past research and points out that there is no recognized progress in the past research.This paper puts forward the research methods of statistical research and archeological typology,and points out the shortcomings of the research.The second part lists in detail the sites with the symbols of Ba-Shu found in the Three Gorges region.Mouth graveyard,winter bamboo shoot dam including temple cemetery,Zhenan cemetery,some easy cemetery,oda creek tombs,Chenjiazui site,over Zengjiaxi cemetery,ohtsubo cemetery,dam,Lijiaba ba culture cemetery,the cemetery Guling cemetery,east yoko site,armor hole hanging coffins,sword gorge before hanging coffins,sandbags hill site,the place such as ping warring states tomb tombs and the ruins,and Wanzhou district SAN tin village,Fengjie Meikui township tsing lung package,such as video region Baisha commune aged pit found objects.The artifacts were counted and compared according to the conditions of tombs,sites and the river basin environment at the discovery site.In the third part,the symbols of Bashu are typologically divided into seven types:animal,plant,humanoid,tool,geometry,glyph and special.There are 143 different symbol images.It points out the occurrence times of each image symbol and the types of implements,and gives examples of typical implements with symbols.The fourth part is a preliminary analysis of some Bashu symbols and their combination,combining with the rules of use to make a judgment of their properties.The symbols include the tiger symbol,the A-type snake symbol,the arm symbol,the "king" glyph symbol,the cloud thunder symbol,the gate symbol,the tooth symbol,the A-type leaf symbol,and the bamboo shoot symbol,which determines the animal attribute of the A-type snake symbol and the plant attribute of the A-type leaf symbol.Bashu symbol combination includes A type snake symbol and arm symbol combination,A type leaf symbol,bamboo shoot symbol,tiger symbol,AA type other geometric symbol combination,tooth symbol and other symbol combination,door symbol and other symbol combination,pointing out the use of various symbol combination rules.The fifth part analyzes the important issues related to the Bashu symbol,and points out that the Bashu symbol should be a kind of integrated image symbol with adornment,worship,identity proof,pictograph and a whole body.It is suggested that the original materials should be recalibrated before the study of Bashu symbols.The sixth part is the conclusion,which is the summary of the research achievements.
