| Senior High School Entrance Examination is a very important exam which can examine the academic standards of junior high school graduates effectively.Reading is one of the important channels for acquiring knowledge,and it accounts for a large proportion in the English of Senior High School Entrance Examination.Based on the theory of language test validity,this study combing Bachman and Palmer’s framework of task characteristics,Curriculum Standards and Testing Syllabus,adopts the text analysis method to study and analyze reading part from 2013-2019 from the input of the text and the expected answer these two aspects.This paper mainly analyzes the discourse input(genre,presentation,topic,readability,vocabulary,new word rate,article length and sentence length)and the expected answer(the length of questions and reading skills).For the input of the text and the expected answer,this study used Microsoft Word2010 to collect the length of text,new word rate,the length of sentence,readability,the length of question and so on.For genre,presentation,topic,reading skills,this study will marked them according to the requirements of the Curriculum Standards and Testing Syllabus to know the validity of reading comprehension section.The research shows that the validity of the reading comprehension questions in Neijiang’s Senior Entrance English Exams is high,which roughly meets the requirements of Curriculum Standards and related research results.The genre of reading involves a complete range;the presentation is the combination of pictures and texts and the combination of texts and tables.The average readability of the text fluctuates around 70,with stable difficulty.The total vocabulary of each set of reading text is about article is about 230,which is in line with the reading level of junior high school graduates;the new word rate is low;and the average length of sentence is low.Secondly,the lengths of the questions are moderate,and students’ reading skills are examined in diverse aspects.Meanwhile,there are also some shortcomings,for example,the length of each article fluctuates greatly,which is not conducive to relieving the anxiety of students during the examination. |
