The legal subject matter movie is a kind of panoramic and deep-seated way to explore the law.The sound and picture world created by it not only relaxes the spirit and mood of the audience,but also conveys rich legal culture information.These information interact with the audience through the screen,imperceptibly spread legal knowledge to the public,establish legal belief,and lay a deep "legal" brand for the Chinese public.Legal movies have the function of spreading legal culture which can not be ignored.However,at present,most of the attention to Chinese Legal Movies focuses on their style discrimination and ideological content.From the field of mass communication,the less attention that is harvest to the whole process of compiling legal cultural information and the existing problems.Therefore,this paper chooses the domestic legal movies since the new period as the research scope.First of all,the concept of Legal Movies in the context of China is more perfect,in order to pave the way for the next research content and ensure the integrity and rationality of the research content.Secondly,starting from the ideological attribute of the film,using the "mass media function" and "agenda setting theory hypothesis" in communication studies,this paper discusses the significance of legal culture communication through the legal theme film.The research focuses on the encoding stage of legal cultural information and the decoding mode of the audience.Based on the relevant theories of "encoding and decoding" and "code" in semiotics,the first is to analyze the systematic process of legal culture content in the production of legal theme films from the aspects of film screen,plot,characters and sound effects;the second is to summarize the differences in the audience’s acceptance of legal culture code on the basis of the analysis of the online review text of this theme film and the results of in-depth interviews The way of interpretation.Finally,this paper analyzes the legal works with different themes,points out the existing problems,and puts forward corresponding and targeted solutions.This study tries to make an in-depth study of the legal culture content and the legal culture dissemination process contained in the legal theme films,and let the legal theme films exert an positive influence on the legal culture dissemination process,the education of people’s legal belief and the promotion of law-based social environment.
