A Study Of Historicism In Gramsci’s Practical Philosophy

"Notes from Prison" is the crystallization of Gramsci’s theory and thought.In this book,it is stated that it is absolute historicism.The historical viewpoints in Gramsci’s practical philosophy have attracted attention from all over the world in practical applications.Combining the interpretation and argumentation of related texts,it tries to reveal the basic content of historicism in Gramsci’s practical philosophy,and its criticism,influence and enlightenment on historicism.This article will mainly elaborate on four parts:In the first part of the article,Gramsci takes practice as a foothold and discusses philosophical issues in the context of social history,laying a foundation for us to practice Marxist thinking and practical thinking in the new era,and expounds the meaning and purpose of choosing this topic.Secondly,it systematically sorted out the research status at home and abroad,and then explained the general research content of this article,the methods used,what innovations there are,and where there are deficiencies.Gramsci pays attention to social reality and enlightens us to put the problems encountered in the construction of a socialist modern country into Marxist theories to find solutions.The second part analyzes the background of the emergence of historicism in Gramsci’s practical philosophy.It has been theoretically influenced by Vico,Croce,Mennick,etc.in the history of the development of Western historiography.Their thoughts all include historical considerations.The understanding of determinism occupies an important position in the history of historical thought.In reality,the victory of the October Revolution in Tsarist Russia inspired Western proletarian revolutionaries who were struggling to find solutions to the contradictions of capitalist society.Revolutionary movements have erupted in succession since the beginning of the twentieth century.The third part elaborates the basic content of the research of historicism thought in Gramsci’s practical philosophy.Specifically,it includes: Criticism of Speculative Historicism and Pragmatic Historicism,revealing their theoretical flaws that deviate from the unity of Marxist theory and practice.Explaining that practical philosophy is a historicist ideological connotation of historical theory.As a product of history,practical philosophy not only emphasizes the use of diachronic methods to investigate things,but also emphasizes the organic unity of simultaneous and historical states under the principle of totality.The fourth part evaluates the historicism thought in Gramsci’s practical philosophy.The realistic value and critical significance embodied in Gramsci’s practical philosophy of historicism have influenced Western Marxism.Gramsci’s insistence on the reality,mass and practicality of Marxism will help us solve practical problems in China,how to unify theoretical criticism and practical criticism,and how to reconcile the difficulties encountered with Marxist theory.The combination provides useful enlightenment.This article is based on Gramsci’s representative work "Notes from Prison",and based on this,expands its own interpretation of Gramsci’s historicism.Although it has not systematically constructed his historicist ideological position,it is also working on it.Certain theoretical results have been achieved in the elaboration of the basic content of historicism.Gramsci insisted and promoted that practice is the basic point of Marxist philosophy,and reminded us to focus on the combination of theoretical criticism and practical criticism.Although it stays at the level of theoretical criticism and ignores the criticism of reality,and its understanding of material objectivity is also subjective and idealistic,its use of historicism provides us with important realities for analyzing practical issues in human social history.significance.
