| The research on wayfinding and spatial knowledge acquisition not only contributes to the theory of spatial knowledge representation,but also guides individuals through wayfinding decisions and spatial knowledge acquisition.With the development of augmented reality technology(Augmented Reality,AR),the research on AR navigation tools occupies an increasingly important position in the field of spatial cognition.The main purpose of this research is to explore the influence of different AR map displays on navigation performance and spatial knowledge acquisition,in order to explore a more efficient AR display,so that we can provide a reference for wayfinding and spatial knowledge acquisition.This study consists of three parts: Experiment 1 aims to explore the pros and cons of two navigation displays(AR map display and two-dimensional forward-up map display),mainly comparing the impact of the two map displays on navigation performance(walking distance,walking time and walking speed)and spatial knowledge(including scene ranking,orientation judgment and configuration representations;In Experiment 2,we compare two navigation displays(overview+detail AR map display and traditional AR map display)on navigation performance and spatial knowledge acquisition,to verify whether the combined AR display(overview+detail AR map display)can further improve the navigation performance,while maintaining the level of spatial performance(using the AR map display);The third experiment improves the overview+detail AR map display and investigate whether the improved AR map display can further help individuals acquire spatial knowledge more comprehensively,mainly comparing the impact of overview+detail AR map display’s overview displaying two map(fish-eye map and two-dimensional forward-up map)on navigation performance and spatial knowledge acquisition.The main conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)For navigation performance,two-dimensional forward-up map(2D map)display is better than AR map display;for landmark and route knowledge acquisition,AR map display is better than 2D map display,and AR view plays a supporting role in it.The 2D map does not take an important part in configuration knowledge acquisition.(2)In terms of navigation performance,overview+detail AR map display is better than traditional AR map display;while in terms of spatial knowledge acquisition,there is little difference between them.The overview + detail AR map display can assist global knowledge acquisition to a certain extent.(3)Overview+detail AR map’s overview displaying fish-eye map contribute to the acquisition of spatial knowledge more efficiently than displaying 2D map,and the effect of landmark and route knowledge is more significant than that of configuration knowledge. |
