Task-based Teaching is a teaching concept developed from the theory of language communication in the 1980s.It focuses on organizing classroom teaching through the form of tasks where teachers are responsible for guidance while Students are completing tasks related to real-life mainly by themselves so as to have a good command of english writing.This teaching concept has changed the traditional framework of classroom organization in which teacher instruction is the basic form.Task-based teaching evaluation criterion is also carried out,helping to improve students' interest in learning and pragmatic competence,and embodies the student-oriented teaching concept.This paper attempts to introduce the concept of Task-based Teaching into senior high school English writing class,and to study the effect of Task-based Teaching on improving students' writing interest and writing competence.The students are from class 3 and class 8 in grade one,GuangHua senior high school.This paper mainly studies two problems:Compared with traditional teaching methods,can Task-based Teaching improve students' interest in writing?Does Task-based Teaching Method improve students' writing ability?The writer set up an experimental group and a controlled group when using questionnaires and two tests as research tools.By conductin two questionnaires before and after the implementation of Task-based Teaching,this paper investigates the changes of students' writing interest and the way of thinking in writing so that the first question mentioned above can be answered.At the same time,they were tested both before and after the experiment.The results of the two classes were compared and analyzed to solve the latter question:"Does Task-based Teaching Method improve students' writing ability?" Through a semester of research,I found that task-based teaching is very effective in improving English writing interest,and also has certain effect on improving English writing competence.So we can put Task-based Teaching into teaching practice,especially in such aspects as preview,classroom discussion,group teaching and composition revision.Through the use of Task-based Teaching,we expect to improve our teaching mode and to make teaching more effective.
