"Presence" is an important artistic vocabulary in the system of art criticism.Nowadays,more and more attention is paid to the creation of formal language in art works.In his philosophical system,Heidegger said that "existence" means "presence".Presence is to present things directly to the eyes,to face things themselves,and to open,direct and unobtrusiveness of experience.Only clarity can make the "presence" of "presence" itself realized.Based on the core concept of "being" in Heidegger’s philosophy,the author keeps asking about the meaning of existence,and always pays attention to the living environment of "being",which forms the internal context of Heidegger’s concept of existence.In the interpretation of Heidegger’s concept of "being",the presence of "being" is very important.This paper takes the problem of presence as the starting point,takes the Chinese contemporary artist Liu Xiaodong as the object of case study,and tries to explore the "presence" in artistic creation with the combination of on-site oil painting in his artistic action.This paper is divided into six chapters.The first chapter explains the origin of this research,and analyzes the research status of "presence" at home and abroad as well as its theoretical and practical significance.The second chapter takes Liu Xiaodong’s academic education and China’s artistic atmosphere in the 1980 s as the background,and links the contemporary oil painting artist Xin Dongwang as a comparative study to explain Liu Xiaodong’s artistic attitude.The third chapter analyzes the dialectical relationship between presence and absence,and takes the philosophical theory of "presence" as the starting point to explain Liu Xiaodong’s present experience and painting expression in his works.The fourth chapter describes the "presence" of Liu Xiaodong’s paintings in action from the perspective of the great integration of Chinese social phenomenon and globalization.The fifth chapter explains the significance of the presence of Liu Xiaodong’s multi-media artistic creation,which is not confined to a single artistic style.The sixth chapter discusses the inspiration of presence to contemporary artistic creation and its influence on the author’s artistic creation.This paper studies the artistic creation of artist Liu Xiaodong in many aspects from the academic perspective of "presence".The "presence" presented in his works actually refers to the interactive participation and the sense of presence in artistic creation,which refers to the specific spatial relationship.On the one hand,this sense of presence and interaction is a contest between artists and time,and at the same time,it has the documental significance of work presentation and work display.On the other hand,on-site creation provides the most direct way to view objects and experience things on the spot.This creation process is the artist’s examination of life and himself,and also reflects the traces of the artist’s life activities.The article hopes to solve some problems in the creation by studying the "presence" in Liu Xiaodong’s artistic creation,and to explain the significance of the present on-site oil painting creation.At the same time,this is also my personal thinking in the process of oil painting creation.
