| In English Curriculum Criteria for Regular High School(2017 Edition),thinking quality,which focuses on students’ critical thinking,creativity and logic,is defined as one of the components of Subject Core Competence.However,in the classroom English teaching,not every teacher is familiar with the specific teaching strategies and the steps to implement the cultivation of students’ thinking quality.Based on the status quo,this study,from the perspective of multiliteracy pedagogy,aims to put forward a teaching design into which the cultivation of senior high school students’ thinking quality is integrated.This study is a qualitative research design and uses the research synthesis methods.Based on the comment on the previous research on the cultivation of thinking quality and multiliteracy pedagogy at home and abroad,the study puts forward the teaching design principles which strictly conform to the four steps of multiliteracy pedagogy.Moreover,a specific teaching design of a text in the coursebook published by PEP is provided in order to illustrate the concrete steps about how to cultivate students’ thinking quality in English text teaching.The result of this study indicates that multiliteracy pedagogy provides a good theoretical guidance for the teaching design since its major purpose is to cultivate students’ critical thinking and creativity.It is also expected that the study may provide a practical guidance in senior high school English which focuses on the cultivation of students’ thinking quality. |
