With the development of teaching Chinese as a foreign language and the increasing influence of China in the world,more and more people begin to learn Chinese as a target language.The relationship between language and culture is closely linked,inseparable,Chinese learners need to learn not only the relevant knowledge of Chinese language,but also the Chinese culture behind the language.The relationship between regional culture and Chinese culture is part and whole.Understanding regional culture can help foreign students improve their intercultural communicative competence and enhance their interest in understanding Chinese culture.Therefore,the local culture into the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language is the inevitable requirement of the dissemination of Chinese culture.Throughout Shaoxing culture,the water culture is fundamental.The water culture of Shaoxing,with a long history and rich contents,has a profound influence on the regional culture of Shaoxing,and it also occupies an important position in the water culture treasure house of the Chinese nation.At present,the study of integrating the regional culture of Shaoxing into the Chinese as a foreign language is still a blank.Therefore,the author chose the “Water culture”,which represents the regional culture of Shaoxing,as the research object,to try to combine the local culture of Shaoxing with the Chinese as a foreign language,through a well-designed programme of teaching activities that combines in-class teaching with out-class practical activities,to enable overseas students in Shaoxing to better understand the Shaoxing regional culture represented by the water culture.This paper is divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction,which mainly includes the research background and the research present situation and so on.In the summary part,it mainly combs the relevant research of Shaoxing’s water culture,and the important achievements of applying regional culture to the Chinese as a foreign language.The second part is about regional culture and Chinese as a foreign language,including the definition of regional culture and the significance of regional culture in the Chinese as a foreign language of Shaoxing.The third part is about the water culture of Shaoxing,including the overview of Shaoxing water culture and the main resources of Shaoxing water culture.The Fourth Part uses the questionnaire survey to understand and analyze the foreign students’ cognition of Shaoxing water culture and their learning needs.The fifth part is the concrete plan of the application of Shaoxing’s water culture to the Chinese as a foreign language.According to the current needs of overseas students for regional culture study,the relevant teaching activity plan is designed and applied to the Chinese as a foreign language.At last,the research is reviewed and summarized.
