A Report On The Simulated Simultaneous Interpretation Of The Online Interview "Actors On Actors"

Talk shows have rich contents and a wide range of topics as well as a certain degree of professionalism,making them proper materials for simulated simultaneous interpretation practice.“Actors on Actors” is a talk show that features two guests talking face to face,with audiences who love movies and TV shows from all over the world.In2020,in response to the call for home isolation,the show changed its form to an online interview conducted by two guests via the video call.The author selected one episode“Jennifer Aniston Talks to Lisa Kudrow”(filmed in August 2020)as the material of this practice.This episode has a relatively new form and sufficient contents,and a certain value of simulated practice.This practice mainly has three parts,which are preparation before interpretation,interpretation process,and post-interpretation analysis and evaluation.This report takes Interpretive Theory as the theoretical support and multiple interpretation skills including segmentation,amplification and omission,and conversion as guidance,to solve the common problems encountered in this practice.This report records all aspects of this practice,which aims to exercise the author’s ability,examine previous learning results,enrich work experiences and improve the quality of future interpretation work.Meanwhile,it hopes to provide some references for other interpretation learners.
