The Application Of Interpretive Theory Of Translation In English-Chinese Simultaneous Interpreting

The international contact is increasingly close, which benefits from the integration of the world economic and the continuous development of intercultural communication. Boao Forum for Asia provides a platform for international community to discuss and share experience, so it has received the attention of many countries. Dialogues in Boao Forum for Asia is the collision of ideas between the parties and it would bring the inspiration and guidance to the developments of economy, science and technology, culture and other fields. Therefore, the simultaneous interpretation is getting very important, and it is also a big challenge. Previous studies have focused on speeches of opening ceremony or lectures with drafts, while the simultaneous interpretation of dialogues is discussed slightly insufficient.Interpretive theory is the important referential theory, which has been widely accepted by the interpreters. It is put forward by the international interpreting theorists Danika. Seleskovitch and Marianne Lederer in the 1960s. According to the interpretative theory, interpreting is a kind of communication activity, and the object of interpretation is communicative meaning. Based on this, Seleskovich proposed the triangular model, namely, comprehension, deverbalization and expression. Under the interpretive theoretical guidance of the triangular model, this paper selects the factual records text of the 2015 Boao Forum for Asia "Dialogue:Technology & Innovation for a Sustainable Future" as examples to analyze and research. And it discusses the use of several kinds of interpreting skills.This thesis adopts the method of sample analysis for research. Through outlining the basic concepts and characteristics of simultaneous interpretation, as well as the theoretical framework of the interpretive theory, the thesis has chosen the samples from the simultaneous interpretation text to analyze the use of the interpretation skills,such as simplification, addition and sentence restructuring under the guidance of the triangular model. Through the research, it was found that nowadays the simultaneous interpretation is getting more and more attention in the big occasions in various domains. The triangular model of interpretive theory can extensively guide the application of all kinds of interpreting skills to improve the quality of the simultaneous interpretation.
