Confucius Institute in Krakow is one of the largest Confucius Institutes in Poland,which has high quality of Chinese teaching and wide coverage of teaching targets.After the outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic,the Confucius Institute used the"alternating" teaching mode of Chinese and Polish teachers to ensure the safety of teachers and students and to guarantee the quality of teaching.How effective is this model?Is there any need for further improvement?These are the main points in this paper.This paper takes this teaching model as the object of investigation,presenting and summarizing the specific implementation process and effects,trying to explore a practical path for overseas online Chinese teaching.The "alternating" co-teaching model of Chinese and Polish teachers is the main teaching model applied by the Confucius Institute in Krakow in online Chinese classes for adult learners.In this teaching model,Chinese and Polish teachers are jointly responsible for the teaching of Chinese language of the same class.The teachers of both sides jointly determine the teaching objectives and plan.In the actual course,one teacher teaches the first lesson,and then the other teacher teaches the next lesson,completing the teaching objectives of the semester.This model of teaching emphasizes "alternation" and "communication and cooperation".This paper shows how the "alternating" cooperative teaching model is applied before,during,and after online classes through lesson plans and classroom cases.After that,this paper summarizes the learners’ and teachers’ feelings and opinions about the practical application of this online cooperative teaching model through questionnaires and interviews.Its advantages are as follows:it promotes teachers’personal development,enhances students’ online learning of Chinese,promotes the renewal of teaching contents,and reflects teaching equity.At the same time,this paper also found certain problems with the online cooperative teaching model:less communication online between teachers on both sides;the Chinese teachers fail to fully play their role as native speakers in teaching;and some students’ different cooperation in online classes with different teachers.Finally,in order to improve the teaching effectiveness and efficiency of this online cooperative teaching model,this paper puts forward corresponding suggestions from three aspects:Confucius Institute,Chinese teachers and Polish teachers.
