Multi-dimensional Study Of The "A Little More A,a Little Less B" Contrastive Format

In modern Chinese,the contrastive format is known for its symmetrical forms,semantic refinement,and rich ideographic meaning,and is widely used in communication.On the basis of the research of the predecessors,this paper takes the "a little more A,a little less B" contrastive format as the research object,combines a large number of related corpus,and takes the three-plane theory of grammar and the language meme theory as the guide,using the method of combining description and interpretation,combining qualitative and quantitative to analyze the syntax,semantics,pragmatic characteristics and circulation mechanism of the "a little more A,a little less B" format.The research found that:First,in terms of syntax,the constituent components "more,less" belong to the adjective,the basic meaning of "large quantity,small quantity","a little" means "uncertain trace";the combined constants "a little more,a little less" no longer simply mean "more and less of quantity",but show a certain subjective color,making the meaning more abstract;variables A and B are mostly two-syllable components in syllables,mostly predicate components in nature,and the correspondence between syllables and part-of-speech gives the format the characteristics of syllable symmetry and part-of-speech symmetry;the structural relationship between constants "a little more,a little less" and variables A and B is generally a partial positive compound structure,and this format has different syntactic functions in specific contexts,which can be used as syntactic components,a clause or an independent sentence.Second,in terms of semantics,the format meaning of "a little more A,a little less B"is manifested in the three levels of semantic subjectivity,ambiguity and adjustment;the semantic characteristics of variables A and B are summarized from the corpus,that is,A is mostly positive and neutral,B is mostly pejorative and neutral,and the neutral component also carries the usual positive or pejorative nature of A and B under the action of structural suppression;within the format,there are also different manifestations of semantic relationships between variables and variables,the preceding item and following item,variables have semantic correlations and opposites,and the relationships between front and back items can mean three relationships:juxtaposition,condition and transition.Third,in terms of pragmatics,the use characteristics,pragmatic characteristics and pragmatic functions of this format in communication are analyzed.In the way of use,there is a distinction between single use and continuous use,pragmatic has the characteristics of openness,rhythm and emphasis,and in communication shows the three functions:subjective commentary,verbal communication and overall control of the whole text.Fourth,in terms of communication,based on meme theory,it analyzes its memetic phenomenon,the process and method of replication and propagation,and the motivation to become a strong meme.The prototype of the meme was originally a substantive construction,which went through four stages of assimilation,memory,expression and transmission,and finally evolved into a meme compound domain composed of multiple meme factors through repetition and analogy,and showed the meme characteristics of prolificity,longevity and fidelity.This is inseparable from the development of the Internet and the high-frequency use of meme hosts.
