Format Investigation Of "X Shou(?) Y Jiao(?)"

There is a kind of format—"X shou(?)Y jiao(?)",which consists of the body-related nouns "shou(?),and "jiao(?)",has flexible form and rich meaning.This paper will combine the theory of "Three Planes" with "conceptual integration",describe the "X shou(?)Y jiao(?)" for syntax,semantics and pragmatics,and explain the "X shou(?)Y jiao(?)" in the integration process of the hierarchical characteristics by"conceptual blending" theory.There are six chapters in this paper.Chapter One,we make a brief introduction about the origin of topic,the previous research results,the research theories,research methods,sources of data.There are some results about four character words,fixed phrases,which by predecessors,but there is no case study on "X shou(?)Y jiao(?)",this paper makes an investigation on "X shou(?)Y jiao(?)".Chapter Two,the paper discusses the form structure and the syntactic function.First,we examine constants "shou(?)" and "jiao(?)" rank and interpretation.We find out "shou(?)" in front of "jiao(?)"following the "up and down"and "from good" principle,there are a real meaning and a virtual meaning about"shou(?)"and "jiao(?)".Second,we discuss the relationship between variable X and Y,order,unit property,part of speech feature and selection and statute of X and Y.Finally,we analyze the syntactic function of "X shou(?)Y jiao(?)" in sentences.Chapter Three,the paper discusses the semantic of the format.We believe that there are three kinds of the semantic relations between X and Y,which are homologous,synonymous and antonymous;the semantic relation between "X 'shou(?)'and "Y 'jiao(?)'" is a parallel relation;the format semantic points are divided into Semantic Anaphora and Semantic Posterior;the semantic meaning of form is divided into the combination of multiple meanings and a single holistic meaning.Chapter Four,the paper analyzes the format of pragmatics.We make a survey on the distribution of style,and hold that "X shou(?)Y jiao(?)" has the characteristics of written language style by means of statistical analysis."X shou(?)Y jiao(?)" has the function of reference,representation and modification in expression,and it is subjective,productive and vivid.Chapter Five,the paper analyzes the hierarchy of conceptual integration.The characteristics of syntax,semantics and pragmatics are observed and compared,and it is considered that the "X shou(?)Y jiao(?)" has hierarchical characteristics in the process of conceptual integration.Chapter Six,summary of the full paper.Summarize the basic conclusions of the paper of the various parts,and point out what this paper lacks and where the future efforts and direction needed.
