Research On The Creation Of Character Documentary

The character documentary focuses on “people”.With “people” as the core,it records the actual life state and emotional presentation.While meeting the aesthetic needs of the audience,it reflects the background of the times and social status and expresses humanistic care.Compared with other types of documentary,the character documentary is characterized by the content construction around “people”.Therefore,shaping character images,highlighting the spiritual core of characters and reflecting the style and features of the times have become a crucial part of creating character documentaries.With the classic character documentary as a case and combined with the graduation work Lao Hao and Trees,this paper starts with the third category of character documentary and concentrates on analyzing its narrative mode and audio-visual skills.In addition,this paper is divided into three chapters.The first chapter combs the development venation of character documentaries and defines the basis of character documentaries.The second chapter focuses on analyzing the narrative forms of character choice,plot setting and narrative structure,as well as discusses the theoretical foundation of character documentary creations.The third chapter mainly analyzes the audio-visual skills in the creative practice of character documentaries through screen language and sound elements,etc.We have witnessed the continuous development of character documentaries from the initial singleness to the current diversified integration,so the research on the character documentary needs to be constantly updated and improved.This paper aims to provide a richer research perspective for the future creators of character documentaries and look into the development of character documentaries in the future.
