A Study Of Spatial Narrative In Art Museums

With the development of social culture,museums have gradually penetrated and influenced our daily lives.Various disciplines began to pay attention to the research of museum spatial,which triggered a lot of topical discussions.At the same time,the spatial turn of narratology research has also attracted the attention of many scholars,so the discussion on the spatial narrative of art museums is essential.As far as the current research status is concerned,there are few high-quality results on art museum narratives.In the context of art research,scholars pay more attention to the artistic value of the collection itself and the relationship between various categories;in the field of museum research,more attention is paid to the issue of exhibition communication and operation management.In the field of literature the focus is on the content value and structure of the museum’s narrative text;and this article starts from the museum itself,combining the spatial characteristics of narrative and the space-time performance of the spatial narrative mode to study the areas to be supplemented.Spatial narratology is the most powerful theory of this article.support.Although spatial narratology is based on literature,it proposes the spatial turn of narrative and its cross-media characteristics,as well as several different narrative methods,which provide new ideas for spatial narratology and art museums.Spatial narrative studies the space narrative in the art categories such as novels,paintings,sculptures,movies,etc.,and explains the different structures of spatial narratives from various levels.The generalized forms of space narration and the interpretation of narrative works are used to study the space narrative of art museums,has extremely important reference significance.This article uses the theory put forward in spatial narratology to study the spatial narrative of art museums,and discusses the spatial narrative mode of art museums.This article is divided into five parts.The introduction explains the background,purpose,significance,research status,and method framework.The first chapter mainly discusses the nature and development of art museums as well as the relationship with spatial narrative in the way to find the nature of the art museum.At the same time,research on the theory of spatial narrative and other narrative theories,pointing out the direction for the spatial narrative research of art museums;Chapter 2 discusses the spatial characteristics of art museum narratives,analyzing from three aspects which is narrative subject,narrative medium and narrative audience,exploring the impact and significance of the three on the spatial narrative of art museums;Chapter 3 discusses the spatial narrative mode of art museums,using the three forms of linear narrative,theme-juxtaposition narrative,and fractal narrative proposed in the theory of spatial narrative.Analyzing,discussing the temporal and spatial performance of art museums in different modes from the two dimensions of time and space,is the direction for the construction of spatial narrative of art museums;the conclusion clarifies the feasibility of spatial narratology to study art museums.
