Systemic functional linguistics has been widely used in translation studies since its inception. The meta-function theory provides the translator with a more comprehensive text analysis model, which enables the translator to fully interpret the original text and realize the reproduction of the original text in the translated text."Frog" is a novel written by Chinese contemporary literary writer Mo Yan in the early 21 st century. The novel continues the author’s consistent style of local literature. The text is simple and full of tension. It is one of the winning works of the 8th Mao Dun Literature Award. The academic research on "Frog" is mainly concentrated in the field of literature, and there is still blank space in the field of linguistics, and the research perspective and research methods also need to be expanded. Therefore, this paper attempts to study the translation of the first Chinese-Uighur text of "Frog" from the perspective of systemic functional linguistics. The thesis consists of five chapters. The first chapter introduces the basis of topic selection, definition of related concepts, research ideas, research methods, difficulties and corpus sources, and summarizes the research status of the novel "Frog" and systemic functional linguistics. The second chapter expounds the theoretical basis-metafunction theory, including interpersonal function, conceptual function and textual function, and the subordinate theories that can best reflect each function. The third chapter describes the three functions embodied in the original translation from the aspects of transitivity process, tone, modality and thematic structure. The fourth chapter, based on the meta-functional equivalence in translation, explains the problems existing in the Uighur translation of "Frog".The fifth chapter summarizes the paper, points out the shortcomings of the paper and the future research direction. The results show that the conceptual function, interpersonal function and textual function in the original "Frog" are basically preserved in the translated "Frog".In terms of conceptual functions,it is easier for the translated text to choose the process types, participants and environmental elements that are consistent with the original text.Although some translations transform some processes in the original text into other processes or environmental components, most translations focus on understanding the experience of characters in the novel. The world time is consistent with the original text, achieving the equivalence of conceptual functions;in terms of interpersonal functions, the translation is more inclined to use the purpose adverb + auxiliary verb bol, verb subjunctive + auxiliary verb bol, verb subjunctive + modal particle kerεk and other grammars means to express the potential information in the original text,so as to realize the equivalence of the interpersonal functions of the original translation. In addition, when the original text expresses a certain tone, the modal particle is often used as an auxiliary, but the translation is omitted due to the lack of such words in the translation,so that the translation cannot fully convey the emotion expressed by the original author;in terms of discourse function, the translation basically refers to the theme mode of the original text,so that the theme mode of the original text can be retained in the translation text, but each language has its own characteristics. When the theme mode of the original text is not suitable for the target text, the translation The author omits, adjusts or reconstructs the thematic pattern of the target text under the premise of conforming to the target language specification. Therefore, the meta-function theory of systemic functional linguistics is suitable for the analysis and discussion of Chinese-Uyghur translation novels, and has certain theoretical guiding significance for the translation of Chinese-Uyghur novels.
