| Red Rock,as a patriotic textbook,is not only of profound significance to cultivate young people’s patriotic feelings,but also an important way for contemporary young people of all ethnic groups to understand history and learn revolutionary spirit.Because there are a large number of cultural allusions and common sayings in novels,explicit translation is necessary to enable the target readers to accept and understand the content and thoughts expressed by the original author,so as to achieve effective translation.In order to commemorate the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China（CPC）and cultivate students’ patriotic education of loving the party,Hongyan,a novel with patriotic feelings,has been widely welcomed,and its Uighur translation has achieved good communication effect,so it has high translation research value.Functional linguistics focuses on three dimensions of language research perspectives,which not only provides new research ideas for explicit translation studies,but also provides relatively objective theoretical support and evaluation methods for the comparison between the original and translated works in translation studies.Therefore,on the basis of combing the research of systemic functional linguistics in translation and the research results of explicit translation at home and abroad,this paper takes the phenomenon of explicit translation in the Uighur translation of Red Rock as the research object.Based on Haliday’s Systemic Functional Linguistics,Hu Kaibao’s definition of manifestation and Hu Kaibao’s and Zhu Yifan’s classification of manifestation as theoretical basis,this paper makes an empirical study on the phenomenon of manifestation and its motivation in the Uygur translation of Hongyan.This paper is divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction,which outlines the research objective and significance,while reviewing and composing the research results of domestic and foreign scholars on systemic functional linguistics,as well as the results of manifestation research from different perspectives,and finally briefly explains the research ideas and methods of this paper.The second part provides a brief introduction to the relevant concepts.The three major metafunctions of systemic functional linguistics,Hu Kaibao’s definition of manifestation,as well as Hu Kaibao and Zhu Yifan’s classification of manifestation are conceptually defined.The third part explores the phenomenon of manifestation in the Uyghur translation of Red Rock.According to the different characteristics of two languages,and based on the theory of systemic functional linguistics,cases are analyzed in three aspects:conceptual metafunctional manifestation,interpersonal metafunctional manifestation and discourse metafunctional manifestation,according to the classification of manifestation by Hu Kaibao and Zhu Yifan.The fourth part analyzes the motivation for the phenomenon of manifestation in the context of three types of manifestation in the Uyghur translation of Red Rock,the characteristics of literature and the principles of translation,which are mainly divided into three aspects: translation process motivation,language difference motivation and translator motivation.The fifth part concludes and reflects on this paper on the basis of the analysis and research on the phenomenon of manifestation and its motivation in the Uyghur translation of Red Rock. |
