The Study Of Rural-urban Linguistic Landscape And Civilization Construction In Kashgar

Linguistic landscape is one of the hot topics in sociolinguistics and applied linguistics.Linguistic landscape can show regional social and cultural context and civilization development degree.In this paper,some cities and villages of five counties and cities in Kashgar were selected as the survey sites,and a total of 3,385 language signs were collected.Based on the theory of variationist language landscape,the paper objectively described the location of language signs,the material and size of signs,and the way of text presentation.On the subjective level,the author,industry and discourse type of the sign are investigated.This paper analyzes the characteristics of urban and rural language signs in Kashgar and puts forward corresponding countermeasures to the construction of linguistic landscape.In addition,this paper also investigates the current situation of language civilization in the linguistic landscape of Kashgar from two aspects: the standard of language and the language used in uncivilized society.The data shows that there is no significant difference in the number of language anomie between urban and rural areas in Kashgar,and the types of errors include four aspects: word use,grammar,translation and punctuation.The main error types of urban language signs（improper use of traditional Chinese characters）reflect that the anomie of urban language signs mainly lies in the sign makers’ insufficient understanding of the rules of using language and characters.The main error type of rural language signs is more basic（incorrect characters,improper punctuation）,indicating that the anomie of rural language signs mainly lies in the poor use of the national common language of the sign maker.There are few uncivilized social terms in Kashgar,which reflects the civilized and harmonious social atmosphere there.Finally,the author puts forward some suggestions on language civilization in linguistic landscape from three aspects: language sign manager,language sign owner and language sign reader.Relevant departments should reform,revise or construct relevant laws and regulations with flexibility and tension,and industry language behavior standards.Give full play to the role of guidance,supervision and management,and carry out publicity and training activities.Carry out targeted management through field investigation and respond to public demand.Signage owners should take the initiative to improve the ability of the national common language and enhance the awareness of language norms and language civilization.When setting up signs,fully consider,the pursuit of elegant and decent language expression,pay attention to the maintenance and management of signs.Signage readers need to improve their ability to distinguish language civilization,regard standardized language signs as examples,arouse their language civilization habits,and then improve the level of moral civilization,and in turn promote the construction process of civilized linguistic landscape.
