The piano suite "butterflies"(Op.2),created by Schumann in his early years,is one of the early representative works of romantic music. With its exquisite and colorful music image,it has attracted generations of audiences to listen, and has become a new "Ivy League" repertoire that is often performed in piano music performances. In view of this, after reviewing the life of pianist Schumann, this paper further interprets the ideological trend of the times and cultural and artistic concepts from multiple angles to restore the creative background of the piano suite "butterflies"(Op.2).On this basis, the second chapter analyzes the romantic creative characteristics of the piano suite butterfly from the three aspects of "Literary Prototype","tonal layout" and "harmony color";The third chapter is rooted in the discussion results of the first two chapters, and further analyzes the performance skills of the piano suite butterfly from the three aspects of "strength control","key touching skills" and "pedal application".The final conclusion is:the piano suite butterfly is the romantic "inner monologue" of the composer Schumann who uses the musical vocabulary to perspective the dual aspects of his personality under the influence of literary works. The performer must understand the emotional connotation of the music on the premise of in-depth analysis of the creative background and intention, and then use various performance techniques such as organic adjustment, key touch, pedal and strength control,In order to properly interpret the profound and romantic emotional connotation flowing between the texture of the music, and then achieve an ideal interpretation effect.
