Erhu piece "Xiao Yaojin" is one of Min Huifen’s most representative works for transplanting Beijing opera singing.In the 1970 s,Min Huifen started the way of performing traditional opera music on the erhu under a special political mission.Gradually,she realized the profound and infinite charm of transplanting traditional Chinese opera,and since then she has extensively explored various opera music,adapting and transplanting a large number of pieces.Through her hard work and diligent research,she has concluded a series of performance principles for erhu performance.She has not only pointed out the highest level and the truth in the pursuit of art for more erhu learners but also improved the theories of erhu performance and enriched the erhu repertoire.This paper discusses the requirements of Min Huifen’s erhu performance for traditional opera music performance,focusing on the four senses: the sense of role,character,embellishment characteristics,and rhythm,which combines practical performance techniques with theoretical interpretation.
