The intense work stress of police officers takes a great toll on their bodies and leads to many psychological disorders and emotional problems. In order to avoid the adverse consequences caused by stress, police stress needs to be identified and assessed as early as possible.Police officers have several physiological reactions when facing stressful situations,so the stressful situation of police officers can be assessed based on the changes of physiological parameters under stressful conditions. This paper takes physiological indicators to assess police stress as the starting point, makes full use of three indicators closely related to police stress:blood pressure, skin electricity and heart rate variability, and builds a comprehensive evaluation index system by combining hierarchical analysis and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method to realize quantitative rating of police mental stress;and based on this evaluation model, explores the stress level of grassroots civilian police under different work states, and provides targeted The evaluation model was also used to explore the stress levels of grassroots police under different working conditions, and to provide targeted countermeasures and suggestions to alleviate police stress. In order to establish a police mental stress evaluation model with more accurate quantification and higher feasibility, the study was divided into three stages, corresponding to three studies: study one was the selection of physiological parameters, study two was the construction and validation of the model, and study three was the application of the model.METHODS: Study I used a single-factor experimental design to select 30 grassroots civilian police officers(all male)for stress elicitation, and recorded their psychophysiological indicators before and after the elicitation, respectively,to find suitable stress evaluation indicators for police officers by comparing the differences before and after stress, and secondly,to calculate the magnitude of change before and after stress for each parameter to provide data support for subsequent stress quantification.Based on the indicators selected in Study 1,Study 2constructed an evaluation index system using the AHP method, and then determined the comprehensive weights of each tier of the system through a combination of subjective(ninescale method)and objective(principal component analysis),and finally conducted a fuzzy comprehensive evaluation of police mental stress by establishing the steps of rubric set, affiliation, and rank interval division to achieve the purpose of quantitative stress rating. In addition,to verify the credibility of the model, another 20 civilian police officers’ physiological data in the calm state were collected as a baseline,10 of them were stress induced, and the other10 were used as blank controls to validate the model calculation results.Study three applied the evaluation model and used a one-way experimental design to collect the physiological parameters of 30 civilian police officers in the calm state and three work states(administration, police response, and patrol),and calculated the mean stress scores for each of the three work states using the computational model obtained in the previous paper, and conducted a variance test to investigate whether there were differences in the degree of stress among police officers in different work states.RESULTS: The results of Study 1 showed that among the 13 physiological parameters, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure,SCL,SCR number,SCR recovery time,SCR height, heart rate,SDNN,RMSSD,and LF/HF showed significant differences before and after police stress, while the differences in differential pressure,IBI,and PNN50 were not significant,so Study 2 constructed a hierarchical rating using these 10 indicators system by calculating the combined subjective and objective weights, the first level weights were: blood pressure(27.08%),skinned(25.22%),and heart rate variability(47.70%),and the weights of the 10 second level indicators to the first level indicators were: systolic blood pressure(55.82%),diastolic blood pressure(44.18%),skinned SCL(43.71%),number of SCRs(8.09%),and SCR recovery time(10.53%),SCR height(37.67%),heart rate(43.04%),SDNN(12.29%),RMSSD(28.35%),LF/HF(16.32%),combined with the fuzzy affiliation of the magnitude of each index evaluated by experts,a comprehensive evaluation model of police mental stress was constructed, and after validation, the final identification of the model correct rate was 85%.The results of Study 3 showed that there were significant differences in the stress scores of the civilian police in the three states, which showed that the police receiving state was higher than the patrol state than the government work state. Conclusions: 1.Systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure,SCL,SCR number,SCR recovery time,SCR height, heart rate,SDNN,RMSSD,LF/HF are effective indicators for evaluating police mental stress;2.Quantitative rating of police mental stress based on physiological parameters can be achieved by constructing an evaluation index system, calculating graded weights, and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation, and by police physiological parameters changes, police stress is divided into four grades: low, low, high, and high;3.The stress state of civilian police officers in their daily work is not exactly the same. The highest mental stress score is in the state of receiving and handling police: 63.19,followed by public security patrol work: 54.54,both of which are in the high stress state, and the lowest score is in the state of government affairs: 46.70,which is in the low stress state. |
