Accurate recognition of other people’s emotions is the basis for individuals to choose correct social strategies.Some studies have proved that improving an individual’s sense of power will reduce the accuracy and speed of the individual’s judgment of other people’s prosody emotions.However,few people pay attention to how the individual’s perception of other people’s power will affect the individual’s recognition to prosody emotion of these people.Individuals have a stereotype of low enthusiasm for high-power people,which may suggest that individual’s believe high-power people always keep a calm emotional state,and it may affect our judgment of the emotions of high-power people.Purpose: The purpose of this study is to break through the practice that previous studies only focus on individual sense of power,use the power perception activation method to explore the impact of power perception on others’ emotional prosody recognition,and explore the relationship between this impact and power stereotype and the cultural differences of this impact.Content: there are four experiments in this study.Experiment 1 explores the impact of power perception on the accuracy of emotional prosody recognition,experiment 2explores the impact of power perception on the evaluation of emotional prosody intensity,Experiment 3 uses new power perception starting materials and emotional prosody materials to verify the experimental results before,and experiment 4 directly verifies the relationship between power perception and power stereotype and its cultural differences.Results:(1)subjects made more neutral and angry judgments,less happy,sad and afraid judgments on high-power people;subjects had higher accuracy in identifying neutral and angry emotions of high-power people,and lower accuracy in identifying happy,sad and afraid emotions;subjects rate the overall emotional intensity of highpower people lower,but rate the correctly identified emotional intensity higher;(2)subjects’ emotional intensity evaluation of high-power people was positively correlated with power stereotypes;(3)subjects would make more neutral,happy judgments and less angry judgments about Chinese traditional high-power people;subjects had higher accuracy in identifying neutral and happy emotions of Chinese traditional high-power people,and lower accuracy in identifying angry emotions;subjects rate the anger and fear intensity of Chinese traditional high-power people lower.To sum up,this study confirms that the speaker’s power characteristics will affect our judgment of his emotional prosody,which is related to the power stereotype,and the influence will show obvious differences in Chinese traditional cultural backgrounds.
