Cooperative learning is regarded as a system of teaching theories and strategies,which plays an important role in students’ learning process.The College English Curriculum Requirement(2020 edition)encourages colleges and universities to implement blended teaching mode,advocate the construction and use of integrated online and offline courses,and actively create a diversified teaching environment.Guangxi Normal University was awarded provincial blended first-class courses,and all classes adopted the flipped classroom model.So,the author investigates the college English cooperative learning situation under the blended online and offline teaching mode.Meanwhile,the author compares the differences of gender,liberal arts and science in cooperative learning,analyzes the factors affecting it,and puts forward specific suggestions for improving the quality of blended English teaching in Guangxi Normal University.Therefore,this study not only has practical significance but also extends the connotation of cooperative learning.The research method adopted in this study is mainly questionnaire supplemented by interviews.Freshmen and sophomores of non-English majors in Guangxi Normal University are taken as the survey objects.The cooperative learning questionnaire includes six dimensions: attitude,interdependent ability,interactive ability,sense of responsibility,skills and application in cooperative learning method.The purpose of this study is to explore three questions :(1)What is the overall situation of cooperative learning of college English learners under the mode of blended online-offline teaching?(2)Are there any gender differences or major differences in cooperative learning of college English learners under the mode of blended online-offline teaching?(3)What are the factors that affect the cooperative learning of college English learners under the mode of blended online-offline teaching? The results show that :(1)The overall situation of blended online and offline college English cooperative learning in Guangxi Normal University English is good,and the six dimensions of cooperative learning are all at a high level.Among them,students’ attitude,interdependent ability and sense of responsibility are higher than skills,interactive ability and application in cooperative learning methods.(2)There is a significant gender difference in regard to online and offline cooperative learning in Guangxi Normal University,but there is no significant difference between liberal arts students and science students;(3)The factors influencing the blended online and offline college English cooperative learning include internal factors: individual learning style,cooperative attitude,team division of labor,learning time,English knowledge level,autonomy,responsibility and personality.External factors: evaluation method,course theme,task difficulty,after-class time,cooperation method,number of before-class tasks and cooperation time.The research results inspire the author to put forward several suggestions from the perspective of teachers and students.For teachers :(1)Training learners’ effective cooperative strategies in blended online-offline learning;(2)Designing different cooperative tasks according to learners’ learning level;(3)Increasing the proportion of formative scores for online cooperative learning;(4)Paying attention to the integration of online teaching platform and offline.For students :(1)Clarifying the role of learners themselves in online and offline cooperative learning;(2)Making reasonable use of modern network learning resources and platforms to achieve multi-party communication.
