Blended learning has greatly improved learning efficiency and enriched teacher-student learning activities. However,in the practical use of blended learning in College English, there still exist many problematic aspects. With Constructivism and learning community as the theoretical basis, this thesis attentively focuses on the transition from online learning to offline learning in blended learning of College English and specifically analyzes the following questions: 1)What are the problems of transition from online learning to offline learning in blended learning? 2)What are the causes of the problems of transition? 3)What countermeasures should be taken to optimize the transition from online learning to offline learning? This study chose 120 first-year non-English-major students of NUAA as research participants, distributed to them the questionnaire which was designed by the author,as well as observed and documented how the online learning and offline learning proceed.Under the guidance of Constructivism and learning community, the author analyzed relevant statistics and carried out interviews with 4 English teachers for sake of analyzing concrete problems of transition in such aspects as instructional content, instructional procedures and instructional assessment and different causes them. Finally, based on analysis of causes, some countermeasures were put forward to optimize the transition from online learning to offline learning. The major findings are as follows: 1)With regard to instructional content, difference between difficulty of online learning and offline learning is indistinguishable without following the mode of "easy online & difficult offline";the link between the last offline learning and the next online learning is weak;classroom attention on students' fallible points in online learning is scarce;complementary materials are not enough in offline learning to strengthen online acquisition;after-class assignments fail to strike a balance between online learning and offline learning. With regard to instructional procedures, teacher's interaction with students in online learning is less than that in offline learning;the unicity of online learning and the complexity of offline learning are not matched as to types of learning activities. What's more, there are inconsistencies of activity topics between online learning and offline learning;students' subjectivity is not well-performed from online learning to offline learning. With regard to instructional assessment, the frequency of peer assessment in online learning is not consistent with that in offline learning;students are less likely to receive evaluation from the teacher like what they receive in offline learning.2)The causes of transition problems lie in the following aspects: some drawbacks in allocating content in the present online system without fully following the requirements of blended learning;students' awareness of blended learning is vague and there is a lack of efficient teacher-student interactions;teachers failed to arrange instructional procedures in accordance with instructional content;untimely use of teaching technologies also influences the efficiency of blended learning.3)Targeted at the causes of problematic transition, designing pretests in the online learning is conducive to congregating students' attention;live classroom between online learning and classroom learning is able to motivate students' deep thoughts and enthusiasm for sake of strengthening transition;at the same time, timely feedback between students and the teacher needs to be more for communication;Online platform needs to be updated and modified based on settings of other platforms to construct a more personalized and effective learning environment. The findings provide the references for achieving a better transition in blended learning of College English. However, given the limited number of students, without fully covering most of students' feedback,a well-round exploration of blended learning in more universities is expected in the future.
