Through quantitative and qualitative analysis of the collected data, this study obtains the following results:(1)The overall level of the state anxiety of English teachers of twelfth grade is relatively high.(2)The state anxiety of English teachers of twelfth grade of key senior high schools is far higher than that of English teachers of twelfth grade of ordinary senior high schools, whether it is from the aspect of anxiety resulting from lack of control, anxiety resulting from lack of satisfaction or from anxiety resulting from conflict.(3)The following seven aspects of factors cause the state anxiety of English teachers of twelfth grade:expertise, teaching ability and self-efficacy;students’ English levels, classroom performance and students’ evaluation;interpersonal relationships;school management;society’s expectations and evaluation;head teacher management and students’ mental problems. Finally, the following suggestions are put forward by the author on how to relieve the state anxiety for English teachers of twelfth grade and school leaders of senior high schools based on the results of the survey. These suggestions are of great significance to English teachers of twelfth grade in other schools:(1)For teachers, they are expected to learn how to make self-adjustment and boost self-efficacy so as to reduce their state anxiety.(2)For school leaders, they are supposed to improve the welfare system for English teachers of twelfth grade and reduce the frequency of requiring students to take exams. |
