With the development of economy and education,English has become a compulsory public basic course for students in secondary vocational schools.Through teaching observation,it is found that students are accompanied by English learning anxiety in the learning process,which leads to the obstacles of oral communication.With the rise of Humanism Psychology,more and more attention has been paid to the emotional problems in English learning of secondary vocational students.Studies have shown that oral learning is the most likely language activity to arouse students ' anxiety.Therefore,the influencing factors of speaking English anxiety of secondary vocational students and their corresponding intervention strategies are one of the urgent problems to be solved in the research field of mental health education in secondary vocational schools.This study investigated the speaking anxiety of 240 students in secondary vocational schools through Speking English Anxiety Questionnaire and EPQ(Adult edition).It was found that: ? Secondary vocational students did have oral English anxiety,and reached the level of moderate anxiety.? The level of speaking English anxiety of girls and boys reached moderate anxiety,but the level of oral English anxiety of girls was higher than that of male students.Girls and boys had significant differences in speakingl English anxiety level and negative evaluation anxiety.? The level of speaking English anxiety of urban students is lower than the moderate anxiety level of rural students in the source.There were significant differences in oral English anxiety between the two,and there were significant differences in communicative misgivings,negative evaluation anxiety and test anxiety.? The level of speaking English anxiety of students in Putonghua Level 3 A reached mild anxiety,which was lower than other students of different levels.There were significant differences in test anxiety among students of different putonghua levels.? The level of speaking English anxiety of typical extroverted students reached mild anxiety,which was lower than that of other students with moderate personality tendency.There were significant differences in test anxiety between typical internal tilt type and typical extroverted type.On the basis of investigation and analysis,this study puts forward some suggestions from the three perspectives: learners,teachers and classrooms,hoping that the results of this study can help secondary vocational students to alleviate their English speaking anxiety and improve their oral English.
