| Fang Yizhi achieved high achievements as a philosopher and thinker in the late Ming Dynasty, and made certain achievements in mathematics, medicine, physics, art and so on.In his later years,Fang Yizhi’s achievements in painting were second only to his literary ideas, and he was favored by many literati and scholars at that time, with outstanding style characteristics. The formation of Fang Yizhi’s painting style is closely related to his own experience and his main philosophical thoughts.Fang Yizhi’s painting career can be roughly divided into three stages. The first stage was when Fang Yizhi first learned to paint, the stage of playing with ink.At that time,Fang Yizhi’s painting style was not obvious, and mostly imitated the paintings of Yuan people. The second stage is the period of exile in Lingnan, trapped in life, selling paintings for a living, but also visiting famous mountains and rivers to truly appreciate the beauty of natural landscapes. At this time,Fang Yizhi gradually became proficient in painting techniques and gradually reflected his painting style. The third stage is Fang Yizhi’s reclusive life after escaping from Zen.After becoming a monk,Fang Yizhi concentrated more on academic writing and painting, and the perfection of ideological theory also established and matured Fang Yizhi’s painting style. For the analysis of the characteristics of Fang Yizhi’s painting style, this article starts from two perspectives. The first point is the characteristics of its pen and ink.Under the influence of "North and South Sects",the overall development of landscape painting in the late Ming Dynasty tended to focus on the aesthetics of ordinary scholars, while Fang Yizhi was unique in the expression of brush and ink.His brushwork is mostly dry and light ink,the brushwork is sloppy, the lines are freehand and freehand, there is no dense chapped method and moist light ink,and the overall picture is desolate and desolate. The second point is the expression of his philosophical thoughts in his paintings. The theoretical thought of "integration of three religions" and the dialectical point of view of "integration of two into one" make Fang Yizhi’s paintings contain the ideas of philosophers, and the expression of this idea is also the characteristic of Fang Yizhi’s paintings. The significance and value of the times in Fang Yizhi’s paintings cannot be ignored. |
