A Study On The Performance Of Macdowell’s Piano Divertimento Forest Sketch

American composer Mac Dowell is the representative figure of the second New England school in the first half of the 19 th century.The forest Sketch for piano timbus is his late work.Because of his singing and descriptive melody and vivid music language,it has the value of further study.In this paper,Mac Dowell’s Sketch in the Forest is taken as the research object,starting with the musical characteristics,to study the musical structure,rhythm,tonality characteristics and the intensity of the musical range,and to understand the musical style in his works.From the perspective of piano performance,this paper makes a thorough and detailed analysis of playing techniques such as breathing,playing strength,touching keys and timbre.Through the above research,the performer can have a deeper understanding of the artistic characteristics of the work and improve the musical expression of the work.
