Research On The Financial Aid System For University Students In Yunnan During The Period Of The Republic Of China

The financial aid work for college students is not only the concentrated expression of promoting equity in higher education,but also an urgent need for building a country with strong human resources,and still the focus of college student work in my country today.Back in the period of the Republic of China,although Yunnan was located in the southwest frontier,it also provided financial assistance to the poor students at that time,which effectively guaranteed the students’ right to education.Due to the small number of schools in the initial stage,Yunnan colleges and universities often use subsidies to subsidize students to study at home and abroad,so as to cultivate higher education talents needed by the province.Later,with the successive establishment of colleges and universities and many colleges and universities that moved inward during the Anti-Japanese War,the student funding system of Yunnan colleges and universities gradually developed and matured,forming multiple funding subjects,multiple funding methods and standardized funding management agencies.This paper takes the student financial aid system in Yunnan colleges and universities as the research object,and analyzes it from the following three aspects:The first part explores its historical background and tries to restore the various reasons for the implementation of the student financial aid system in Yunnan colleges and universities.The second part focuses on verifying the main content of the funding system,including the analysis of funding subjects,funding methods and funding management.The student financial aid system in Yunnan colleges and universities,through the input of funds from the government,schools and the society,has established scholarships,loans,free public funds and other funding methods,set up special funding agencies to manage,and formulated complete funding procedures to help poor students.The third part summarizes the characteristics of the student financial aid system in Yunnan colleges and universities,and makes an evaluation.In terms of characteristics,it includes three points: highlighting the educational concept,linking with the evolution of the political situation,and continuously standardizing the funding management system.In terms of evaluation,despite its shortcomings,the financial aid system of Yunnan’s colleges and universities is worthy of recognition for its remarkable contribution to securing educational opportunities for the poor and underprivileged,nurturing higher intellectuals,and building the teaching force in Yunnan.Finally,through the study of the student financial aid system in Yunnan universities in the period of the Republic of my country,taking history as a mirror,it also has some enlightenment for the current college student financial aid work in our country’s colleges and universities.Firstly,we should strengthen the concept of financial aid for nurturing people and build a long-term mechanism of financial aid for nurturing people.Secondly,we should raise funds through multiple channels and promote the diversification of funding sources.Finally,it is necessary to strengthen the standardization of financial aid management and promote the construction of accurate financial aid and financial aid teams.
