| As the main body of care for the disabled elderly in rural areas of our country, family caregivers not only need to pay a lot of time and energy, but also face heavy burdens in various aspects such as the physical, mental and economic aspects of the care.If things go on like this,it will not only affect the quality of life of family caregivers themselves, but also the living standards of those who are cared for will not be improved. It will also affect the sustainable development of family care models in rural areas. This study adopts the method of case study, taking ten main family caregivers of disabled elderly in Y Village, southwestern Shandong Province as the research objects, collecting data through in-depth interviews and non-participatory observation methods to understand the basic situation of family caregivers in the daily care process As well as the specific burdens faced, the purpose is to analyze the causes of the burden of family caregivers and propose targeted suggestions on how to alleviate the burden of family caregivers based on this.Studies have found that the age of caregivers is generally high, and their educational level and personal income are generally low. They often face heavy caregiving tasks that no one can share. From the perspective of the specific care burden of family caregivers, the care burden can be divided into four aspects:physical, psychological, economic and social life.Heavy care work will affect the health of the caregiver, bring greater psychological pressure to the caregiver, and also bring about the economic pressure of the caregiver’s family and affect the normal social life of the caregiver’s social life and work.Under the guidance of social support theory, the author found that the difficulty of obtaining necessary social support in daily interactions with the outside world by family caregivers is the main reason for their heavy burden, which mainly includes the shortage of care resources inside and outside the family, care skills and basic medical knowledge The lack of acceptance and learning channels, inadequate psychological pressure relief channels and self-grooming skills, lack of personal income and policy economic subsidies, and the weakening of social interactions and connections.Through the analysis of the causes of the problem, the author believes that the government, the community, the family, and social workers should work together to solve the burden of family caregivers. The government should provide caregivers with more policy support, and community managers should fully mobilize various resources such as care service resources, medical resources, and technical resources in the community to serve family caregivers.Other family members in the caregivers’families should be affirmed The value of care for caregivers is to share the burden of care for caregivers.Social workers,as professionals who help socially disadvantaged groups, should use professional social work skills to provide professional support for caregivers. |
