With the increasing number of the elderly with dementia,the problem of family care for the elderly with dementia is increasingly prominent.The focus and Research on family caregivers is an important issue.At present,most of the researches focus on the macro policies and the burden of life,and lack of specific ideas and actions to solve many other practical difficulties of caregivers.This study is based on the project of "urban community elderly care service" undertaken by Gansu H social work agency,Go deep into the five communities of Chengguan District of Lan Zhou,Based on the theory of cognitive behavioral therapy and advantage perspective,this paper has a detailed understanding of the care burden of 10 family caregivers of the mentally retarded elderly,To provide services for a family caregiver of the mentally retarded elderly in G community by using case social work method,With the help of a complete practice,this paper attempts to explore the ways and functions of the basic concepts and professional methods of case social work in alleviating the burden of care and strengthening its social support system.In the process of case study,we should pay attention to observation,record,summary and evaluation.In the process of 13 case studies,we can draw the following conclusions through the comparison of pre-test and post test,the evaluation of the case owner and the reflection of social workers,1.The burden of care for the family caregivers of the elderly with dementia is not optimistic.2.Cognitive behavioral therapy has a significant effect in solving the emotional burden faced by the family caregivers of the elderly with dementia.3.In cognitive behavioral therapy,how to consolidate the newly established cognition is the key point of effective intervention service.
