A Study Of Japan’s Public Diplomacy Towards ASEAN Countries

For a long time,Japan has been positively seeking the status of a political power,constantly strengthening its political,economic and cultural influence on ASEAN countries through public diplomacy,in order to promote bilateral mutual trust in multiple fields,establish the culture and brand image of Japan’s trustworthy national diplomacy,and try to contact ASEAN countries to build a regional political security alliance.In this context,Japan use public diplomacy as the major form and implements diversified public diplomacy to ASEAN member countries,which makes Japan have increasingly important influence on the economic and social development of ASEAN.The multi-pronged public diplomacy strategy has enhanced the influence of Japan on the three pillars of politics,economy and culture of the foreign policies of ASEAN countries,which is beneficial for the formulation and adjustment of China’s policy of opening up and cooperation to the ASEAN region and to the construction ofCHINA-ASEAN community of shared future.Based on the analysis of the necessity and conditions of the participation and interaction of multiple actors in public diplomacy,this paper describes the trade,investment and commercial activities,political cooperation and educational cooperation,cultural product export and people-to-people exchange activities relate to Japan’s public diplomacy policy.Japan through the establishment of political,economic and cultural three big pillar,public diplomacy by multiple means rich public diplomacy policy system of ASEAN member countries,and beneficial for ASEAN members through high-level interactive mechanism of public diplomacy.It is aim to build and expand the social individual participants interaction in ASEAN members to network,Finally a series of public diplomacy measures have also made very good anticipated effect,enhances the Japanese presence in ASEAN region,also for its launch in the ASEAN regional public diplomacy policy provide a good public opinion environment,to carry out in the ASEAN regional industry project cooperation provides good political environment,is also for CHINA-ASEAN relations stable positive development to create a good cultural environment.China should learn from it and draw lessons from the relevant experience,try to expand the field of public diplomacy,to construct a framework of public diplomacy in the ASEAN member countries,innovation mode and mechanism of public diplomacy,geared to the needs of the association of south-east Asian nations(ASEAN)build multivariate public diplomacy subject interactive network,project planning and construction of multi-level public diplomacy,consolidate the CHINA-ASEAN regional cooperation relations,We will work actively with ASEAN countries to build a China-ASEAN community of shared future.
