Patriotism is the spiritual fulcrum of the continuous and vigorous development of the Chinese nation in the long historical development,and it is the spiritual driving force to forge the consciousness of the Chinese nation’s community in the new era,which is essential to realize the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation.At present,China has embarked on a new journey of building a socialist modern country in an all-round way.New changes have taken place in domestic and international situation.To properly handle ethnic affairs and to do a good job in ethnic work,it requires not only material support,but also the spiritual level of the people of all ethnic groups,National identity and Chinese national identity consciousness.In the context of the new era,a good education of patriotism is of great significance to forge the consciousness of the community of the Chinese nation and realize the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation.As the main force in the future construction of ethnic regions,middle school students in ethnic regions should strengthen patriotism education in ethnic regions and consolidate their awareness of national identity.This is not only an inherent need to forge a sense of the Chinese nation’s community,but also an inevitable requirement for cultivating socialist successors.This study takes Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture in Hubei Province as an example,and analyzes the current situation of patriotism education for middle school students in this area through literature research and field investigation.The study found that middle school students in Enshi Prefecture have a high basic understanding of the motherland.The vast majority of students have strong feelings of patriotism.The school attaches great importance to the patriotic education of students and has achieved a series of results.However,affected by the social network environment,school education goals are utilitarian and simplistic,family education is lacking in patriotism education,and students lack the initiative to learn.The patriotism education of middle school students in Enshi Prefecture is still insufficient in terms of content,subject,behavior,etc.There are so many shortcomings.Therefore,it is necessary to further strengthen the patriotism education of middle school students in ethnic areas by optimizing the educational environment,perfecting educational content,enriching educational carriers,and innovating educational methods,so as to consolidate students’ national identity and build a sense of community for the Chinese nation in order to realize the greatness of the Chinese nation,and the revival of the Chinese Dream gathers strength surely.
