The Rohingya is one of the ethnic minorities living in the western Rakhine State of Myanmar.During the British colonial period, the Rohingya had conflicts and contradictions with the local Buddhists. After the Second World War and the independence of Myanmar, the contradictions were intensified. In recent years, the Myanmar government and military have failed to effectively deal with domestic ethnic issues. The Rohingya refugee issue has further aroused the attention of the international community. In 2017,there was a bloody conflict occurred in the western Rakhine State of Myanmar, and the Rohingya flowed to Bangladesh on an unprecedented scale in a short period of time.More than three years have passed, and this long-standing refugee problem has not yet been properly resolved.Myanmar and the international community have paid continuous and high attention to the Rohingya refugee problem, and its negative impact is profoundly affecting the regional Geo-relationship through spillover effects. Therefore, this study takes 15 Rohingya refugee camps managed by the United Nations Refugee Agency in the Cox’ s Bazar area of Bangladesh on the Myanmar-Bangladesh border as an example, combined with relevant literature data, refugee data from the UN refugee agency and related event data, comprehensive use of the basic theories of demographic geography, geopolitics and other related disciplines, combing the formation process and development characteristics of Rohingya refugees through the methods of literature analysis, population analysis,GIS spatial analysis, entropy TOSIS,introducing the theories and methods of population geography to analyze the spatial and temporal distribution pattern of Rohingya refugees. On this basis, try to evaluate the living conditions of Rohingya refugees, and finally discuss the impact of Rohingya refugee problem on regional Geo-relationship in combination with related events,so as to comprehensively and deeply understand Rohingya refugee problem and its impact, and provide basis and reference for solving the current Rohingya refugee problem and the formulation of relevant policies. The paper is divided into six parts: The first part is based on the research background, expounds the research significance and purpose, research content and methods, and combs the related research progress; The second part, based on the definition of refugees and Rohingya refugees, combs the formation process of Rohingya refugees problem according to historical evolution, and analyzes the development characteristics of Rohingya refugees problem; The third part focuses on the temporal and spatial distribution pattern of Rohingya refugees, selects 15 representative refugee camps in the Myanmar-Bangladesh border area, analyzes the internal and external environment of refugee camps, and analyzes the scale and structure of Rohingya refugees from time and space by using demographic analysis methods; The fourth part, combined with the analysis of the scale and structure of refugees, the Entropy TOPSIS method is used to further evaluate the living conditions of refugees from the aspects of safety, food, health, education and so on;The fifth part, the geopolitical theory is used to explore the impact of Rohingya refugee problem on regional Geo-relationship from ethnic groups,Myanmar and Bangladesh, and related actors; The sixth part mainly reviews and summarizes the research of this paper, and looks forward to the further aspects of this paper. The results show that:(1)Rohingya refugee is a unique product formed since British colonization of Myanmar, the issues of identity is the core factor of Rohingya refugee problem. In the process of development,Rohingya refugee problem shows the new characteristics of poor living environment, difficult to solve and a small number of refugees joining extremist organizations.(2)Using demographic analysis methods,15 refugee camps with typical characteristics were selected to study the spatial and temporal distribution pattern of Rohingya refugees. The results show that,in terms of time, the scale of Rohingya refugees on the Myanmar-Bangladesh border area has shown an increasing trend;the number of female refugees are obviously more than male refugees;refugees are mainly minors aged 0-17,belonging to a young population structure;in terms of spatial distribution, the distribution of refugees gradually tends to be balanced, and the population center moves to the southwest, presenting a spatial pattern of concentration in the northeast and more scattered in the west and south.(3)From October 2018 to April 2020,the living conditions of refugees in Rohingya continued to deteriorate, showing an unbalanced distribution pattern of relatively good living conditions in Western and southern refugee camps and poor living conditions in central and Eastern refugee camps.Housing / site infrastructure / non food projects, camp management and protection are the main factors affecting the survival of refugees;with the evolution of time, the survival needs of refugees show a trend of diversification.(4)The Rohingya refugee problem exhibits the characteristics of population growth, special population structure, and poor living conditions of refugees, which arouse the attention of relevant actors in the international community and affect regional Geo-relationship.The first is to intensify the contradictions between Rohingya refugees and other ethnic groups in Myanmar and local citizens of Bangladesh;the second is to form multiple challenges to the political, economic and non-traditional security between Myanmar and Bangladesh, thus affecting the bilateral relations between Myanmar and Bangladesh;the third is that the spillover effect of Rohingya refugees has aroused the attention and actions of relevant actors such as the United Nations,Western countries,ASEAN countries,India, and Muslim countries.
