A Study On The Problem Of Refugees In

Rohingya Muslims as Rakhine inhabitants in western Myanmar, are people of mixed who settled down in Myanmar since 7th century. In 1948, Burma claimed independence and then founded a newly democratic government. In the new constitution, several ethnic minorities were granted with the nationality of Burma,included Rohingyas. But during the process of the implementation of the policy faced several difficulties, such as the low efficiency of governance, the rural location of Rohingya people and also the illiteracy condition of them and so on. For these reasons,majority of Rohingya missed the chance to obtain nationality and undetermined citizenship. In 1962, after the coup d’état occurred in Burma. Under the state transformation of Burma, government tried to implement burmanization of Burma’s Muslims. Burma government imposed deportation and persecution on Rohingyas which made them stateless and exiled.Recent years, as the process of state transformation of Myanmar moving on, and the Islamic extremist forces emerging, Rohingyas’ refugees got high attention from the outside world. But also the problem has spreaded through neighboring countries and regions.With increasing attention received, the protection of refugees is becoming the important topic as a regional governance approach. Why ASEAN can’t play the same role as EU dose? The core problem of the regime is why it fails? What this thesis want to do is explain the causes and negative impacts of Rohingya refugees,It involves the international institutions with domestic politics, Given this, the paper want to offer a some advice to resolve the refugee problem.
