| As an important product of technological development and progress,new media plays an important role in the process of promoting social modernization.The degree of exposure and integration of new media also affects the process of social digitization.Digitization and intelligence have become the current development trend.While facilitating the lives of young people,they inadvertently set up barriers for the elderly,especially for the elderly in rural areas.Compared with urban areas,the network environment in rural areas is poor,the "last mile" extension of the network is insufficient,and the elderly have weak awareness of new media.At the same time,rural elderly people are affected by economic and health conditions,and the amount of access to new media and smart devices In the intelligent age,the life of the elderly in rural areas is relatively traditional,which causes the elderly to lag behind the times,and the digital gap between the elderly and the society continues to deepen.However,digitalization and aging are not contradictory to each other.In this dual context,it is of positive significance to explore bridging the digital divide for the elderly.This article takes the contact and use of new media by the rural elderly in northern Anhui as the research content,and uses methods such as participatory observation and in-depth interviews to conduct research.The degree of use,as well as its role and value in the life of the elderly,while exploring the formation of the digital gap among the elderly,in order to clarify the complex reasons that affect the digital integration of the elderly.On this basis,the main contents of this article are as follows:1.In the context of digitalization,the current situation of rural elderly people ’ s exposure to new media,and the influence of traditional media environments on the use of new media by the elderly.2.To understand the characteristics of the current use of new media by the elderly in rural areas through observation and interview analysis.3.Conduct in-depth interviews with the elderly who have access to new media in the village and those who do not have access to new media to explore the impact of new media in the lives of the elderly.At the same time,analyze the in-depth factors that hinder the access and use of new media by the rural elderly,and explore the elderly The specific difficulties people encounter in the use of new media.4.Combining the actual network environment in rural areas and the difficulties in use by the elderly,as well as the characteristics of the rural elderly’s living environment,explore measures to remove the barriers to the digital integration of the elderly.Through daily observations and interviews on the use of new media by rural elderly people,it is found that new media’s entry into the lives of rural elderly people is a long and slow process.The use of new media is affected by traditional media usage habits,and acceptance is not achieved overnight.In the use of new media,the elderly show the characteristics of narrow understanding,low trust,and the use of media at a shallow level.At the same time,the elderly have low ability to screen and judge online information,and use time is fragmented.On the other hand,the elderly group Also affirm the positive significance brought by the new media.In daily use,the impact of new media on the lives of the elderly gradually appears.New media can strengthen the connection between the elderly and their family members,maintain close relationships,promote harmony within the family,and enrich and facilitate the daily lives of the elderly.The happiness and satisfaction of the elderly in their lives play an active role in the continued socialization of the elderly.In addition to the objective material and physical conditions,the current factors affecting the use of new media by the elderly are also important factors that hinder access.The low level of education also makes the elderly prone to cowardice and cowardice in the face of new and unfamiliar things.Inferiority complex,there are skills barriers in further contact.Actively helping the elderly to smoothly integrate into the digital age and get out of the predicament of "digital refugees" requires efforts from the government,society,and families,as well as the removal of rural elderly access barriers.This barrier includes both material and spiritual levels. |
